10/27/2006:"He Big Man Who Wear Tie In Michigan Poetry Reading and T-shirt Release Party"
I would rather wear a tie and have a job living in Michigan. Shoot, I would rather have a job living anywhere. I think you know what I mean if you live in Michigan. As we are going into the dark, wet, cold, days where the landscape goes amazingly flat and dark all day long and sometimes there is little hope except in whatever the mind can imagine. If your imagination need a recharge I have just the thing for you:
Mark your calendars for the evening of November 11th 7:30 PM 410 W. Huron St. In what was the heart of Ann Arbor in the 1890’s. Roos Roast is going to host a reading at the roasting barn (follow the map on the web site and you’ll find the place)
We are proud to have Robert Strong and who will read from his latest book “Puritan Spectacle.” “It is by turns, startling and profound, playful and terrifying, utterly original yet, seemingly, simply overheard.” Nick Flynn author of Some Ether, and Another Bullshit Night in Suck City.
Other guest readers will be announced and there will be an after party which you won’t want to miss! Actually this is going to be a social event with a reading attached to it for some structure and control. Roos Roast is going to provide snacks and coffee and the new Roos Roast t-shirts will be on sale for the first time.
