Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Idido Natural
Product Info
We are in love - wow! You can taste the unique flavors of these beans: berry-forward with a hint of dark chocolate sweetness, all well-rounded and full-bodied. What an amazing profile.
Idido is part of Yirgacheffe, one of eight woredas in Ethiopia’s Gedeo zone, a region often collectively known as “Yirgacheffe” due to its global reputation for exceptional coffee. Located just a few kilometers from the town of Yirga Chefe, Idido is one of the country’s best-known coffee communities and a long-standing benchmark for beauty and complexity in arabica coffee, prized for its jasmine-like elegance when washed and its sweet, punchy character when sundried. For this lot, cherries from hundreds of Idido farmers are processed at a private station managed by Mesele Haile, where they are floated for density and dried on raised beds with careful turning and protective covering. Operating privately in Gedeo is challenging due to intense competition and volatile cherry prices, making success dependent on outstanding quality, strong business skills, and deep community relationships.
